Fun in the kitchen: Guacamole

Today I was preparing lunch (chicken burger with guacamole) for Philippe. Because the Guacamole is not very well known in Belgium, I decided to make some photos :-)

I had lots of fun in the kitchen today! Friends and family from Belgium who know me well will know that this is quite special :-)

Here is the recipe (sorry... in Dutch)

Lots of fun as you can see :-)

Bits and Pieces (2)

Again no major things but just bits and pieces...

Being sportive!
I woke up at 5.30 on Saturday morning to go for a run with Jenna and a friend of her. We ran from our place to Marina Mirage on the other side of the Broadwater, 5.5km! Then we had breakfast at the market and a friend dropped us off back home with a car. Then we went on foot to the pool for a swim! 1.5km! After the swim we went to buy a BBQ at Bunnings (similar to Brico but bigger) and after assembling the BBQ we had a barbie!

As I could not get enough of it, I went to play tennis at the Queenspark Tennis Club in the afternoon... I came back home EXHAUSTED when Philippe asked me to go to Potsville to have a BBQ with Charly...

Potsville
So we drove all the way to Potsville, a one hour drive, to visit Charlies place, a nice house right on the beach! We had a BBQ for dinner and we stayed over there for the night. On Sunday morning we went to the beach! NICE!

We couldn't stay long though because we both had too much work to do. So we went back home around lunch. Philippe studied for his CFA exam, I analysed some data and then I went to play tennis!

Working week
I don't have much to say about this... Not as exciting as the weekend. I worked on a paper with Popi and I analysed data. I didn't get the scholarship to go to Canberra :-( Maybe next time...

2018 Gold Coast Commonwealth Games
On Saturday morning I went to the Broadwater parklands because they would announce if the Gold Coast won the bid to host the 2018 Commonwealth Games. At 7am there was a 5km park run but didn't make it there. At 7.30am I went to the parklands on the bicycle. There were so many people so early in the morning! First there were some videos and speakers about the bid. Below you can see 2 videos of the Gold Coast for the bid. When I look at these videos I cannot believe that I live in such a nice place!

Even though I am not Australian, and I don't know if I will be here in 2018, I could feel all the tension and excitement for the announcement. Here is a short movie that I made!

So as you could see the Gold Coast won the bid!

Saturday afternoon Philippe and I went to Main Beach on the bicycles (5km). Philippe did a nice 5km run and I followed on the bicycle and took pictures :-)

Sunday
Sunday was working day, studying day, laundry day, cleaning day, Aldi day, tennis day... Time flies, especially during the weekend :-(  Normally Philippe is the cook, but today I cooked a nice lunch! Oven baked fries, beef burger on the BBQ and a salad! I was proud of myself!

Weekend is almost over now...

Back to work tomorrow!
